Greater one-horned rhino

At the northern part of India and parts of Nepal, the conservation of this larger one-horned rhino is a continuing battle. Recent preservation efforts have improved the population of the species, but poaching and habitat reduction still place these creatures in danger. Greater one-horned rhinos are called keystone species, since their existence has a powerful influence in their ecosystem, and their disappearance would place other species in danger.
